Ikemeleng Architects are involved in the refurbishment of the existing UIF Head Office Building, converting it into a multistory car park and building a new 9 - storey multi tenantable office building attached to it. This came after the initial brief to do refurbishments to the existing 4 - storey office building were deemed not viable for the current needs and requirements of the Client.

 

The requirements are as follows: Office Accommodation of 16 741 Sq m on 9 (Gr +8) floors suitable for multiple tenants, inclusive of common meeting rooms. Conversion of the existing 13000 Sq m office building into a 5 - storey parking site.

Common Areas include: balconies, cafeteria as well as shared outdoor recreational space.

Standard Bank Gym

STANDARD BANK 6 SIMMONDS STREET GYM REFURBISHMENT

Ikemeleng are currently working on the refurbishment of an existing 1000 sq.m aerobics facilities into ablution facilities and a new 300sq.m aerobics studio within 6 Simmonds street Standard Bank, Johannesburg. The design was developed in line with their brief of increasing the number of ablutions within the gym facility as the current ablutions and aesthetic feel do not meet their demand in quantity or brand quality.

The refurbishment includes the spatial design and finish of a new aerobics studio, an old aerobics studio that is being converted into female ablutions, as well as old female & male toilets into male ablutions. This project is being phased as the gym will still be in operation during the refurbishment.

STANDARD BANK 6 SIMMONDS STREET UPPER + FIRST FLOOR OFFICE REFURBISHMENT

Ikemeleng Architects are currently involved with a fast tracked interior fit out for Upper Ground and First Floor of Standard Bank's 6 Simmonds Street Building,

for the new Business Unit being moved from their current premises to the new location.

The Project involves new fit out for the 11000 sq.m office space, in 1 and half floors involving new carpet layouts, New partitioning, Ceilings and floating bulkheads, feature walls, column cladding and joinery fittings.
