A seSotho word meaning "stand on your own feet". As Architects, we believe that we have an important role to play in contributing to the transformation of South African society. Our goal is to become a voice through which the communities we are part of, and other voiceless sections of society, can speak creatively and have a stake in shaping the environment in which we all
live.Founded in 2004, Ikemeleng Architects is a design-focused practice based in Newtown, Johannesburg. The practice has undertaken work of a variety of types, but has in recent times developed specialised expertise in the spheres of transport, health, urban design and urban renewal.
